As you may gather from my Facebook and Twitter accounts, I love my cafes! Maybe for 2016 I need to start visiting some gyms instead to work off these calories!!! Anyway today I have my trusty audio recorder and speaking to people about the i360 in Brighton and what they think about it, “Good”, “Bad” or “mmm Whatever”! Its been really interesting so far, so listen to my interviews here.
I’m in the North Laines and spotted Black Mocha cafe which is on Gloucester Road. It’s a small looking cafe with seating outside and room inside for about a dozen people. However upstairs there’s room for about another 25 people, so don’t worry if it looks full, there’s plenty of room upstairs!
Black mocha has been re-branded recently (it used to be called Chocaffinitea), is very smart, clean and the staff are really friendly and professional. The only thing that worries me is that they are not mega busy, I don’t understand it as they are really really good and deserve to be rushed off their feet. Maybe its because they are just up Gloucester Road slightly, so a little hidden from the main shopping area.
I went for the standard Latte and a really lovely Brie with apple chutney toasted sandwich which was really delicious (see main photo).
Whilst I was writing this review they brought me their signature drink to try which is called the “Black Mocha”(as their cafe name suggests). It’s Black coffee with dark chocolate melted into it. Wow the flavour is really intense and gorgeous. Next time I’m in town I’m bringing my wife to give it a try, I know she will love it.
People you need to get down here now, tell them I sent you and get those taste buds tingling!
