Since the final contracts were signed, the i360 tower has had mixed reactions from the Brighton and Hove residents, with some calling it a “white elephant”, “out of character with the rest of Hove”. The then Brighton council leader Jason Kitcat was reported in the Telegraph as saying “As well as providing a great view out, it changes the way the world views us – distinguishing Brighton and Hove from competitors and signalling that the city is really buzzing.”
So a couple of years on and just a few months to go before the i360 opens (currently planned for summer of 2016), I wanted to get the opinions of the Brighton and Hove residents on what they thought of it now. Has opinion changed or do people still think it’s a waste of money? Off I went to the North Laines and spoke to a few people and you can hear the interview below.
I’d love to know your opinion, so please leave a comment at the bottom of this post.
Thanks to everyone who I spoke to including;
Angelo from Snoopers Paradise (stall 99)
Laurie Hill who runs the vintage photo booths around Brighton.
And the cool busker!
