I discovered the other day an amazing food stall in the Open Market on the London Road called Pig n Mix. They have a stall there every Saturday, which sells sausages rolls. However they are not your ordinary sausage rolls!
They have a really good looking stall which is brilliantly laid out and draws your attention to them. On closer inspection I discovered that they have ten different flavoured sausage rolls, which are made by hand using locally sourced Sussex pork. You can buy the sausage rolls individually or a special price for five sausage rolls or ten. If you have a student card then you even get an extra one free.
These are not just sausage rolls they are a sausage roll experience! I bought ten sausage rolls, a coffee from another shop in the Open Market and went over the road to the Level playground, sat on the bench with my wife and tried each one on the menu. It was like wine tasting for sausage rolls!! We sat there comparing each one and trying to rate them in order, but we couldn’t rate them as we loved them all!
Did I have a favourite? I would probably say the Spanish Señorita, but I would recommend you try them all!
